I’ve been exploring some new places to capture landscape and nature images since I moved to Menomonee Falls a month and half ago. Pike Lake is about 25 minutes north west of me. It’s quite a beautiful park and large lake- 461 acres. I wandered around the hiking and biking paths this afternoon, as well as a bit off trail searching for interesting nature subjects. Along the lake I saw a patch of reeds in the water and thought they might make an interesting abstract photograph in black in white. This was one of the first frames I captured. I kept the focus shallow on my Sony 100-400mm to isolate selected reeds that looked most interesting.
