Project update 6/4/19

Here’s a few new images I (one from my previous post re-cropped) captured over the weekend, targeted for my new working project. I’m not sure what I’ll end up including in the end, but I’m allowing myself plenty of room to explore varying compositional approaches as well as variances in my processing approach for each image. I’ve returned a couple of times to the Mequon Nature Preserve and nearby areas, as well as discovered some new areas on Saturday in Kewaskum, WI. If I feel something, I react quickly and try shooting. When I get home I do some quick processing, and then I let the images sit for a bit. When I open them up ask myself “do I get that feeling when I first glance at them?” Exactly what that feeling is, I’m not sure I can put into words, but if I feel it, it’s something from within and it’s authentic. This series is more about trying to capture that personal feeling above being compositionally perfect. Please check more images from my previous post.

Lime Kiln Park, Menomonee Falls

Captured earlier this morning just down the street from where I live in Menomonee Falls. The river leads to an old kiln which operated on the site in the late 19th century.
